José Mourinho has been handed a surprise boost, with Enzo Barrenecheea fit and available for Benfica's trip to Porto in the Taça de Portugal quarter-finals on Wednesday at 20:45.
According to Glorioso 1904, the Argentine midfielder is in the squad and has travelled with the team to the north, emerging as the surprise name in contention for the starting XI.
He is likely to start alongside Richard Ríos in midfield, with Fredrik Aursnes on the right, Georgiy Sudakov on the left and Leandro Barreiro central, supplying Vangelis Pavlidis.
He has not featured since the 2-2 draw at Braga on 28 December, part of matchday 16 of the Liga Portugal Betclic, having missed subsequent fixtures through physical problems.
This season for Benfica, Barrenechea has played 29 times, 15 in the Liga Portugal Betclic, 10 in the Champions League, two in the Taça de Portugal, one in the Supertaça and one in the Taça da Liga, across 2,374 minutes, scoring once and providing one assist. The tie is at Estádio do Dragão in the Taça de Portugal Generali Tranquilidade and will be shown on RTP 1.
