José Mourinho will leave late calls on Fredrik Aursnes and Amar Dedic before Benfica face Real Madrid, with neither player’s involvement yet guaranteed.

According to A Bola, the Benfica head coach will base his decision on how the pair come through Monday’s final training session at Estádio da Luz, ahead of the home tie.

Aursnes sustained a muscle injury on Thursday, 12 February, which ruled him out against Santa Clara. He has responded positively, but the next hours will determine whether he can feature.

Dedic has been carefully managed in recent games, suggesting his fitness has not been at its peak. He is also due to begin Ramadan, which could complicate matters further.

This season Aursnes, valued at 17 million euros, has made 40 appearances for Benfica, 21 in Liga Portugal Betclic, 12 in the Champions League, four in the Taça de Portugal, two in the Taça da Liga and one in the Supertaça. He has four goals and seven assists.
