Joshua made his senior Maracanã bow in Flamengo’s match with Coritiba. His family savoured the moment.

The 19-year-old, part of Flamengo’s under-20s, has been involved with the first team since last season, when he scored on debut under Filipe Luís against Botafogo-PB in the Copa do Brasil. Coluna Do Fla reports that his father, Eddie Andrade, called it another dream realised for the family.

This year he featured in the club’s opening Carioca fixtures. On Saturday 30 it was the first time he was named in Leonardo Jardim’s matchday group.

Andrade said his son felt he would get on from the bench and had been waiting for the chance. After coming on, Joshua celebrated and said that God is very good.

The family’s joy was also shared on Instagram, where his sisters and mother posted photos and messages marking his Maracanã outing.
