Red Bull Football chief Jürgen Klopp is today in attendance at Stade Charléty for Paris FC’s Ligue 2 clash against Amiens. After officially becoming the head of Red Bull’s football operations on 1st January, one of the former Liverpool manager’s first assignments in his new role will be overseeing the development of Paris FC. A video taken by Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Alessandro Grandesso shows the Klopp’s first introduction to Stade Charléty with Antoine Arnault and current club president Pierre Ferracci. Whilst the official representative of Red Bull on the board of Paris FC is former Germany and Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez, the former Dortmund boss’s brief still covers the club from the French capital. This evidently involves a quick trip to attend Paris FC vs Amiens but not an in-depth look yet at the club’s facilities.
Red Bull owns a minority stake in PFC (10.6%) after the Arnault family (also known as one of the richest families in France) took over the club to implement an ambitious sporting project. The energy drinks company’s role at the club will predominantly cover the scouting of young players and the youth infrastructure at the club. Les Parisiens can temporarily retake the top of the Ligue 2 table with a win against Amiens, before fellow promotion rivals Lorient face FC Metz this evening (20:00 CET). GFFN | George Boxall
