Jürgen Klopp is in talks with the German Football Association about taking over the national team after Germany’s early 2026 World Cup exit and Julian Nagelsmann’s departure.

“About two years ago I left Liverpool and said I lacked the energy for a new challenge or to continue another year there. Now I feel completely recovered, I have recharged and I am ready,” he told Magenta TV.

Klopp said he would approach the role with enthusiasm and energy, arguing Germany needs deep change to restore its standing at major tournaments. He believes the current generation has the talent to compete, but insists a clear identity and a solid project are essential.

Parts of the deal still require resolution regarding his current professional link with Red Bull. Even so, talks are progressing and optimism is growing around the federation.

His arrival would mark a new phase for a team aiming to regain prominence on the international stage after several tournaments short of expectations.
