Julian Brandt, a Leeds United summer target, has been spotted training at former club Bayer Leverkusen alongside Arsenal striker Kai Havertz as he weighs up his future.
Brandt is a free agent after leaving Borussia Dortmund at the end of last season. The 30-year-old spent seven campaigns there and made more than 300 appearances, including in the Champions League.
With no club pre-season to attend, he returned to Leverkusen to maintain fitness at the BayArena. He and Havertz were team-mates at Die Werkself between 2016 and 2019.
Leeds are among several sides monitoring the attacking midfielder, and his father Jurgen has visited Thorp Arch for talks.
Brandt broke into senior football at Leverkusen after joining from Wolfsburg in 2014, playing 215 times and producing 42 goals and 52 assists. He made the Bundesliga Team of the Season in his final campaign before a €25 million move to Dortmund in 2019.
He went on to record 57 goals and 70 assists in 307 Dortmund games. He earned another Team of the Season nod in 2022/23, won the DFB-Pokal and played in a Champions League final loss to Real Madrid.
