He said his main focus, alongside Marcelo Paz, has been integrating departments, especially the squad and coaching team, while establishing internal processes at CT Dr Joaquim Grava.

He is working closely with the academy to ease youngsters into the first team, attending training and matches home and away. He says the first month has been very positive and that returning was the right call.

Before rejoining Corinthians, he spent nine years with Red Bull Brasil and Red Bull Bragantino as a player and later technical coordinator. Since retiring in 2018, he has studied football and sports management with the CBF Academy, FGV and Conmebol.

A Corinthians graduate, he debuted in May 2005 and stayed until 2014, making 140 appearances. He figured in the 2009 promotion, plus the 2012 Libertadores and Club World Cup wins, lifting nine trophies. He replaced former manager and scout Renan Bloise.

Since his arrival, the team have five wins, two draws and one defeat. They host Barra on Thursday at 19:30 in the Copa do Brasil fifth-phase second leg after a 1-0 first-leg win. A draw would take them into the last 16.
