Justin de Haas has ended a three-year spell at Famalicão, the player said in a post that it had been unforgettable. He will join Valencia as their first signing of the 26/27 season.

The defender, under contract at Valencia until June 2030, described the Portuguese club as a family and thanked team-mates, coaches, staff and supporters. He reflected on team records, milestones and wearing the shirt with pride.

He will arrive in July after consolidating in Portuguese football, with the expectation he will reinforce a defence that has been in constant rebuild. Adapting to LaLiga is the next step.

At Mestalla the move aligns with the recruitment plan led by sporting director Lisandro Isei since last November, when he was hired by Ron Gourlay, CEO de Fútbol, with Hans Gillhaus and Andrés Zamora. Isei is targeting physical presence, aerial strength and a left-sided outlet from the back.

With José Copete managing fitness issues, the Dutchman could start alongside César Tárrega from mid August, when the league begins. The club could confirm the deal in the coming weeks.

De Haas came through AZ Alkmaar and PSV Eindhoven and has spent part of his holidays in Spain.
