Justin de Haas is in his final weeks at Famalicão before joining Valencia as a free agent, with official confirmation due after the season. According to Superdeporte, Ron Gourlay confirmed the move in a press conference.

In the meantime, he remains focused on Famalicão’s goals. The Vila Nova side are sixth in Portugal on 42 points, four off fourth place and a Europa Conference League berth. Their rise has been built on defensive solidity with De Haas leading the back line.

His impending switch has not dented his professionalism or output. He continues to log maximum minutes, with his Valencia future secured from 1 July, while keeping his attention on the daily grind.

That was the message on his Instagram, where he shared a club post and stressed that he is keeping his focus.

Famalicão face eight games to claw back four points and reach Europe. The run-in includes demanding meetings with Porto, Braga and Benfica, among others.

Across the campaign, Famalicão own the league’s fourth-best defence. They have conceded 22 in 26, the stingiest record outside Porto on 10, Sporting on 14 and Benfica on 17. De Haas ranks as the top-rated centre-back among players above the average appearance mark, and is sixth overall, behind only defenders from the big three, including former Valencia man Nico Otamendi.
