Juventus and Vlahovic Might Be Heading Toward a Divorce

Juventus are starting to come to grips with the fact that they won’t be able to renew the contract of Dusan Vlahovic and will have to put him on sale next summer. The meetings with his agent Darko Ristic haven’t led to tangible progress. The striker is unwilling to shave his massive yearly salary to do the team a solid, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

There have been no movements around him as far as the January window is concerned for now. The Old Lady isn’t shutting the door, though. It’d bring in the resources to address their holes, even though it’d force them to sign two center-forwards.

Vlahovic isn’t in a rush to flee Juventus. He’d be content to play out the final year of his contract and leave on a free in 2026. The hierarchy will do whatever it takes to avoid such a scenario and might take extreme measures as they did with Federico Chiesa and other footballers in the past, although none as valuable as the Serb.

The officials would like to nab a potential heir in January already. Joshua Zirkzee is seen as a perfect fit, but they can’t match Manchester United’s request at this stage. Randal Kolo Muani is a close second. In the meantime, their no.9 is questionable for the Derby due to muscle fatigue.

Our Take on Juventus and Vlahovic

It’s a natural turn of events since they have been slashing their wages bill since last summer, and no player is going to take a pay cut in his prime. A tremendous second half of the season could still reconcile the positions for a bridge deal, but the vibes are on the negative side.
