According to L'Équipe, Juventus were furious during and after their 3-2 defeat at Inter Milan, citing Pierre Kalulu’s late first-half dismissal as decisive.
The defender was sent off in the 42nd minute for a second yellow after a foul judged non-existent on Alessandro Bastoni, a moment that turned the derby.
With VAR not permitted to intervene on yellow cards, even when they result in a dismissal, the decision stood and Inter capitalised against ten men.
Juventus responded by boycotting post-match interviews, instructing players and the head coach not to appear. Director general Damien Comolli and head of international relations Giorgio Chiellini addressed the media instead.
Chiellini said there was no point talking football after what had happened, called it unacceptable, and argued the officiating was not at the level of such a fixture. He added that this was the image being shown to the world and urged a swift reaction.
Comolli said he had praised the team but sensed deep frustration among the players and the coach, adding that supporters would feel the same. He said discussing football made no sense now, called the incident shameful and plain for all to see, and admitted it was very hard to accept.
