Juventus coach Igor Tudor expresses the Bianconeri’s display as “an on par” first half followed by an extremely “fragmented” forty-five minutes in their 2-0 agitating defeat to Como in a post match interview under the microphones of DAZN, as relayed by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Since the impressive victory against Serie A giants Inter, the Bianconeri have failed to win a single match across all competitions within their last six outings, amassing five draws and an defeat. The Old Lady have scored eight goals, but have been debilitated defensively as they have conceded ten goals.
The Bianconeri succumbed to coach Cesc Fabegras’ side as Argentinian rising star Nico Paz rose to the occasion in a vital fixture, as the 21-year-old attacking midfielder provided a sublime corner kick delivery to central defender Marc Kempf to break the dead-lock, and displayed a superb piece of individual skill, gliding through the middle of the park and cutting towards the inside with such ferocity and finesse simultaneously to beat his marker, doubling his side’s lead with a marvellous strike past Michele Di Gregorio.
The Real Madrid academy graduate’s inspiring performance helped Como to leap into fifth place with 12 points, on level with Juventus.
While speaking to the media, the former Verona and Lazio coach provided his insight on Juventus’ performance, criticizing his side for the lack of focus in the first half when conceding the first goal.
“We wanted to move forward, we wanted to press, we were even good at times, against a team that plays good football.
“We didn’t stay inside our own penalty area like you say. It was a difficult match against a well-organized team. In the first half, we conceded this goal early on from a set piece, which you can’t concede. It was an even first half, we even did some interesting things, as did them.
“In the second half, the game was very fragmented due to fouls and their behaviour. Then it ended after the 2-0. We wanted to do something with two strikers and we didn’t manage it. I had the feeling we were threatening but without getting any real shots, very few at least.”
