Sunday’s reports claim that Juventus could be tempted to turn to one of Italy’s EURO 2020-winning squad members in Emerson Palmieri to bolster Luciano Spalletti’s options at full-back after missing out on the signing of Liverpool’s Andrew Robertson.

Could Juventus reunited Spalletti with Emerson?

Juventus are hoping to provide Spalletti with a squad capable of challenging for the 2026-27 Scudetto, but their budget took a hit after missing out on qualification to the Champions League in the final two weeks of the 2025-26 season.

Liverpool left-back Robertson had been among the options for Juventus at left-back given that he was available on a free transfer, but after Juve’s failure to qualify for the Champions League and after Tottenham Hotspur’s survival in the Premier League, the Scotland international is expected to sign with the North London outfit instead.

Now, according to updates from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus could be tempted to turn to Emerson instead. The Brazilian-born Italy international is a player Spalletti knows well from their time working together at Roma.

The left side of Juventus’s defence is an area that could see several changes this summer, as reports claim that Andrea Cambiaso could potentially be sold to raise funds for new arrivals. Filip Kostic’s contract is also expiring and Juan Cabal could be allowed to leave as well.

Juventus are said to be monitoring the 31-year-old Emerson as a result. He has spent the 2025-26 season in Ligue 1 with Marseille, making 28 appearances in the league and 37 across all competitions.
