Juventus are looking to hijack Crystal Palace’s deal to sign Evann Guessand, according to The Telegraph.
However, he is still likely to join Palace, who are in advanced negotiations with Aston Villa over a loan move that could include an option to buy at the end of the season.
Guessand arrived at Villa in a deal worth £30.4 million last summer. However, the deal has not worked out, and Villa are ready to sanction a move before the winter transfer window closes.
Palace have endured a challenging season. They are 15th in the league standings after collecting just 28 points from 23 matches.
They have paid £35mto sign Brennan Johnson from Tottenham Hotspur, but they want further attacking reinforcements.
Jean-Philippe Mateta has been linked with an exit before the transfer deadline. Nottingham Forest have made a £35m offer for him, but Palace are holding out for £40m.
The Eagles were close to sealing a move for Jorgen Strand Larsen, but the proposed move is now in doubt.
They are unwilling to match Wolves’ £50m price tag for the Norwegian, who has scored just one Premier League goal this season.
