Former Sunderland target Jhon Lucumí is attracting Juventus interest, with the Bologna defender tied to a €28million clause that runs until mid-July.
Sky Sport Italia reports that Juventus have made contact over a potential deal for the 27-year-old centre-back, with the clause equating to around £24.1million.
Sunderland had him as a main defensive target after promotion to the Premier League, submitting official bids and wage proposals, and the player was at one stage open to the move. Bologna, having lost other key defenders, were reluctant to sell and the deal collapsed. The Black Cats did not revive their interest in January.
Lucumí joined Bologna from Genk in 2022 and has become a pivotal figure. He has made 149 appearances, won the Coppa Italia in 2024-25 and helped secure Champions League qualification.
He has one year left on his contract, leaving Bologna with a decision to make this summer. The clause and his top-flight and international experience could appeal to clubs seeking defensive reinforcements.
