On 6th June, Juventus One presented at the enthralling Serie A Festival, organised by Lega Serie A in collaboration with the Emilia-Romagna Region and the Municipality of Parma, to talk about its Juventus One Paralympic project.
There were great levels participation and enthusiasm from a panel that brought together professionals from various football clubs and organisations to talk about the social value of Paralympic football. At the heart of the meeting, a clear message: sport is much more than a competition, it is a powerful tool for inclusion, social diversity and visibility for those living with a disability or in social exclusion. The panel was attended by: Clara Simonini, CSR Manager Lega Serie A, Elisabetta Scorcu, DCPS Advisor, Giovanni Sacripante, DCPS Director, Emanuela Andronaco, DCPS and Parma Calcio Manager, Santo Rullo, Psychiatrist and Crazy for Football creator, and Eugenio Giannetta, Avvenire journalist. The speakers for Juventus One were coach Silvia Dema and athlete Fabrizio Ida.
The panel focused on the story of the creation and development of the Paralympic and Experimental Football Division of the FIGC, offering the audience testimonies full of emotion, strength and pride.
“Juventus One is a melting pot of comeback stories, dreams being realised, lost paths being found and beautiful stories of rejuvenation and new starts. Juventus One is a space of family and of dignity where people have the chance to find themselves again and find their place to the world,” said Silvia Dema, coach of Juventus One.
“I got to know the Juventus One project thanks to an educator from the community where I lived. Now I am among the most amazing athletes. I have come a long way, I have grown and matured with the team, as a person and as a player. Today, I am proud to say that I do not feel inferior to anyone,” testified Fabrizio Ida, Juventus One athlete.
The following day, a top-quality Juventus One team took part in the fourth edition of the national ‘Tardini for Special’ tournament organised by Parma Calcio FC at the Ennio Tardini Stadium with 36 teams. It was a day filled with emotions, with a string emphasis on participation and inclusion at an event attended by more than 1,000 people. The Bianconeri team won first place by beating Torino 1-0 in the final.
