Juventus have been given a golden chance to finally land their long-time target Raphael Guerreiro, who is on his way out of Bayern Munich.

The French-Portuguese player joined the Bavarian giants on a free transfer in the summer of 2023 after a memorable seven-year spell with their rivals Borussia Dortmund.

On Monday, Bayern announced that the 32-year-old will leave the club at the end of the season, as his expiring contract won’t be renewed.

Juventus will try to snap up Raphael Guerreiro on free transfer

In the past, Guerreiro had been linked to Juventus on multiple occasions. The Bianconeri like the player for his technical skills, on-the-ball composure, and ability to cover several roles on the pitch.

The Portuguese international is originally a left-back, but he can also play as a right-back, a central midfielder, and even an attacking midfielder.

According to Tuttosport via IlBianconero, Juventus will try to seize the opportunity to finally recruit Guerreiro next summer.

The Metz youth product is already free to negotiate and sign a pre-contract agreement. His current yearly net salary at Bayern is €4.2 million, while Juventus are reportedly offering him €3 million.

The Turin-based newspaper reveals that the Bianconeri have already made exploratory contact with the player’s entourage, but have yet to launch concrete talks.

Juventus planning for full-back overhaul

As the source explains, Juventus have identified Guerreiro as the ideal profile to bolster their full-back/wing-back department ahead of a summer revamp.

The Serie A giants are preparing to part ways with several players in this department, beginning with Filip Kostic, who won’t be offered a new contract.

Moreover, Juventus are expected to exercise their option to buy Emil Holm, who will instead return to Bologna. Joao Mario will also be placed on the market, despite his improved form at the Renato Dall’Ara.

The club will also try to offload Juan Cabal after failing to regain his form following his return from the ACL injury he suffered in November 2024.
