Juventus are poised to reignite their pursuit of Randal Kolo Muani this summer, according to Calciomercato.
Their interest comes as little surprise given Kolo Muani’s outstanding six-month loan in Turin last season, where he scored 10 goals in 20 appearances.
Despite the Frenchman’s clear desire to return to Italy during the winter transfer window, a deal failed to materialise. Juventus are now targeting a permanent deal in July.
The Bianconeri view the 27-year-old as the ideal focal point for their attack, especially with Dusan Vlahovic’s future up in the air.
Kolo Muani has struggled for form, scoring just three times in the Champions League, but his previous Serie A exploits are a major appeal to the Juve hierarchy.
His market value has dropped sharply from the €90 million Paris Saint-Germain paid to Eintracht Frankfurt, with a summer move now expected to cost Juventus around €40m.
PSG are hoping to use Juve’s interest in Kolo Muani to their advantage in negotiations for Khephren Thuram, but he is considered untouchable in Turin and talks over a new deal are underway.
With Vlahovic and Arkadiusz Milik sidelined by injury and Lois Openda struggling for form, Juventus will be relying on Jonathan David to maintain his fine form.
He has recorded nine direct goal contributions in his last 12 outings.
After opening February with a 4-1 demolition of Parma, Luciano Spalletti’s men travel to Bergamo for their Coppa Italia quarter-final clash with Atalanta on Thursday.
