Serie A side Juventus will lose Dusan Vlahovic soon and are in need of attacking signings. Genoa’s Jeff Ekhator has now emerged as a key target for the Old Lady.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that they have begun discussions for the 19-year-old and talks between the two clubs are expected to continue for the next few hours.
There is a possibility that the Bianconeri will find the conditions to reach a €13 million capital gain, which would be useful for the balance sheet on the final day of the season (June 30). Juve could include players in the deal, with Daniele De Rossi’s side open to the possibility as well.
Genoa have asked about Juan Cabal but the player isn’t keen on joining them. That is why Next Gen’s David Puczka can get involved during discussions between the sides.
Juve CEO Giovanni Carnevali spoke to Sky about the rumours and he confirms that discussions have been held.
He said – via Di Marzio: It’s a club we have a relationship with, like others, and we’re having some general discussions. Juve has many young players who could be interesting for them, Genoa has important players.”
“These are evaluations, there’s no better evening than one like this one, with the transfer window just starting and we’re getting started. But we’ll have many days together to work and understand. All of this must be done calmly and with clear ideas, without any rush.”
Ekhator has shown glimpses of his talent at Genoa and he won’t cost much for Juve. If they can somehow include an outgoing, they can hit two birds with one stone by signing a striker and potentially registering a capital gain on their accounts before tomorrow’s deadline.
