Pierre Kalulu has been identified as a transfer target by Manchester United, with the Old Trafford club having sent scouts to watch the French defender on multiple occasions, including the Milan-Juventus derby at San Siro, as they assess whether to make a formal approach this summer.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Juventus are aware of United’s interest and are pushing to tie Kalulu down to an improved long-term deal before any external bid materialises.
The defender, who started 49 of Juventus’s 50 matches this season, is contracted until June 2029, but the club want to extend that agreement to at least 2030 with an option for a further year and increase his salary from the current €2.5 million per season to somewhere in the region of €3.5 million, while Kalulu’s camp are understood to be seeking closer to €4 million plus bonuses.
Negotiations are ongoing but the two sides remain apart.

Kalulu joined on loan from Milan for €3 million before Juventus activated a €16 million purchase option after his first season, arguably the best piece of business the club have done in the past two summers.
Versatile enough to play in a back three or four, and even as a right wing-back when required, he has been one of the most reliable performers at the club this season, and Luciano Spalletti has already endorsed his continuation.
A sale is considered unlikely but not entirely out of the question. Juventus face pressure to generate transfer income to offset the loss of Champions League revenue, and Kalulu’s current balance sheet value of €12 million means a deal in excess of €40 million would represent a significant profit.
Other players, Cambiaso, Gatti, Koopmeiners and Di Gregorio among them, are considered more realistic sales.
Tottenham are also monitoring Kalulu, though a departure remains a remote prospect given his importance to Spalletti’s setup.
