Kalvin Phillips is set to join Sheffield United on loan for the second half of the season, with the Blades also moving for Joe Rothwell.
According to Leeds Live, United have seen off rival interest and the 30-year-old wants a return to Yorkshire to revive his career.
The former Leeds United midfielder spent 12 years at Elland Road before joining Manchester City in 2022. He has played only seven minutes this season and has made 32 appearances under Pep Guardiola.
He spent last season on loan at Ipswich Town and the second half of the previous campaign at West Ham, and he still has two-and-a-half years left on his deal at the Etihad Stadium.
Phillips might face competition for minutes, with Chris Wilder also said to be closing in on Rangers midfielder Rothwell, who is claimed to be undergoing a medical ahead of a permanent move.
He was taken to Ibrox from Bournemouth by Russell Martin last summer, and he played 39 times on loan with the Whites last season.
