Bayern Munich star Harry Kane will miss today’s game against Borussia Mönchengladbach, but Vincent Kompany seems confident that the Englishman will recover for a Champions League meeting with Atalanta next week.
Bayern Munich star striker Kane will miss tonight’s Bundesliga game against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

During his pre-match press conference, the Bavarians’ coach Kompany said: “He [Kane] got a knock on his calf and hasn’t recovered yet. It’s just a knock; it’s nothing serious for the time being, but we’d need maybe another day for him to be involved. We’re pretty relaxed. Of course we would have liked Harry to be involved, but these things happen.”
Kompany added that Hiroki Ito and Alphonso Davies would also miss tonight’s league fixture.
The fact that Kane needed just an extra day to recover from his minor injury suggests that he should be available for a Champions League match against Atalanta next week.
The Bundesliga giants will visit the Serie A side in the Round of 16 first leg on Tuesday, March 10, while the second leg will be played at the Allianz Arena in Munich on Wednesday, March 18.

Kane, 32, is Bayern Munich’s top scorer this season with 45 goals in 37 matches.
It’s more than double the combined goal tally of Atalanta strikers Gianluca Scamacca and Nikola Krstovic, as the Italian has scored 10 goals this season, while the Montenegro international has managed eight.
