Grêmio centre-back Kannemann has sustained a muscle injury in his left thigh and is now an absentee. The Argentine has played only one match this season, the defeat to São José.
According to Globo.com, he has a grade two injury to the external obturator muscle in his left thigh. Grêmio estimate a return in two to three weeks.

That layoff means he will miss the first two rounds of the Brasileirão, plus three further group-stage matches in the Gauchão and a possible knockout fixture.
Kannemann is currently a reserve. On the left of defence, head coach Luís Castro has preferred Wagner Leonardo.
Even so, the Argentine remains a leader within the squad.
