Plans will already be being made for when the market reopens

In the end, most Blackburn Rovers supporters were pleased with their club's business in the summer transfer window.

In total, nine new first-team players were added to the squad at Ewood Park, with six of those joining on permanent deals.

With those signings, many felt that the club had improved the overall set of options available to head coach John Eustace.

It will also have been hoped that those new recruits could fill the void left by those departing the club, most notably last season's Championship golden boot winner, Sammie Szmodics.

Despite a dip in form just before the October international break, the signs have been mostly promising for Rovers.

As a result, they will be aiming to be replicate that effective work in the market, once it reopens again at the turn of the year.

So, with that in mind, we've taken a look at some of the business that would make the January window an ideal one for Blackburn Rovers, right here.

Augustus Kargbo signs

It was reported last month that the Ewood Park club are keen to secure the services of Augustus Kargbo from Cesena in the January transfer window.

The winger has scored two goals and provided two assists in eight games in the Italian second-tier this season, and so could be useful in terms of the end product he could bring to Eustace's side.

It has been suggested that Kargbo could be sold in the summer, and a permanent deal could be a welcome one for Blackburn.

Tyrhys Dolan, Arnor Sigurdsson, Ryan Hedges and Dilan Markanday are all out of contract this summer, while Amario Cozier-Duberry is only on loan for the season.

As a result, there is a good chance they will need some longer-term options out wide, and Kargbo could provide that, while potentially also adding some useful and much-needed pace to the side.

Lewis Travis stays

Having returned to Blackburn in the summer after a loan spell at Ipswich Town in the second-half of last season, there was speculation about the future of Lewis Travis while the window was open.

Other Championship sides such as Stoke City and Hull City were credited with an interest in the centre-midfielder, although no deal materialised.

But with the 26-year-old impressing on multiple occasions at the start of this campaign, it may be no surprise if that interest emerges again in January.

Rovers, though, will not want to lose the influence of their club captain, and especially not to a Championship rival, meaning they will surely be looking to keep Travis beyond the next window.

No loanees recalled

Blackburn were dealt a blow last January when James Hill was recalled by parent club Bournemouth after an excellent first-half of the season on loan at Ewood Park.

With Liverpool left-back Owen Beck, Stoke City midfielder Lewis Baker and Brighton winger Amario Cozier-Duberry all currently on loan with Eustace's side, they will want to avoid a repeat of that.

Beck has been excellent in the starting XI despite his controversial red card in the goalless draw with Preston North End.

Cozier-Duberry has looked extremely bright from the bench, and looks on course to play a part from the start in the near future, while Baker has shown promise and brings useful experience.

As a result, it would be a blow to lose any of the trio, not only due to their ability, but also the lack of depth it would leave them with in those respective positions.
