Karl Darlow faces an uncertain future at Leeds United, with club sources expressing doubts as his deal runs out this month.
The 35-year-old started 2025-26 as deputy to Lucas Perri, who joined from Lyon for £13.9 million last summer, then became Daniel Farke’s first choice. He made 24 appearances in all competitions, kept five clean sheets, and helped Leeds stay up in the Premier League.
Tottenham showed interest last week in a free transfer ahead of their first full season under Roberto De Zerbi, a development that has increased doubts around his next move. Many supporters would like him to remain.
There is genuine appetite inside Elland Road to agree fresh terms, and making a new contract a priority has been reported by The Athletic. Even so, his own ambitions are said to be central amid uncertainty over the club’s overall goalkeeping plan.
It is not yet clear whether Farke wants Darlow as number one or as back-up, though there is hope he will stay and fight for his place.
Of the four senior goalkeepers, three contracts expire at month-end. Leeds are keen to keep Darlow, while Illan Meslier is confirmed to be leaving before the new campaign.
Alex Cairns’ situation remains unresolved, although sources close to the player are confident he will continue at the club, according to Beren Cross.
