The Huddersfield Town owner has delivered a pledge to Terriers fans ahead of the January transfer window
Huddersfield Town owner Kevin Nagle has delivered a big statement on the Terriers' plans in the upcoming January transfer window.
The American businessman has pledged on X that Huddersfield will "likely not sit back idly," and that they are "in for the fight" when it comes to improving the side ahead of the second half of the League One campaign.
The Terriers have had a season full of ups and downs thus far, but find themselves in the top six on the back of three consecutive wins to end 2025, having scored the most goals in the division, too.
The framework seems to be there to truly push on and make a push for the top two in 2026, and the Huddersfield owner doesn't want to sit back and allow other teams around them to improve ahead of them.

Huddersfield came into the current League One campaign with plenty of expectation, having made a huge splash in the summer transfer window to bring in players with bags of experience both in the Championship and at the top end of the third tier.
After four wins in five to start the campaign, the Terriers went on a bit of a rough patch, but are now starting to come out on the other side, with three wins and ten goals scored in their final matches before the new year.
The new year marks the opening of the transfer window, and Huddersfield's owner, Kevin Nagle, is keen to capitalise on this run by making a splash in the transfer market once again.
In a response to a fan asking him on X whether the club needs to spend to push for an automatic promotion place, Nagle replied, "We will likely not sit back idly. We are in for the fight."
A 13-word statement which will fill those inside the Accu Stadium with plenty of hope, a mere fortnight after boos rang around the stadium following a 1-1 draw with Wigan Athletic.
A strong end to the calendar year has hopes high, and capitalising on that with a strong January window akin to the one in the summer will get 2026 off to the perfect start.

According to Huddersfield fans in their replies to Kevin Nagle's plan to be "in the fight" in the January transfer window, the number one transfer target is someone who is already at the club.
Leo Castledine has excelled at Huddersfield on loan from Chelsea, scoring seven goals in his last eight games, taking his tally to nine league goals for the campaign.
The Mirror reported on December 23 that the 20-year-old was attracting interest from Championship clubs, and his brace on Boxing Day against Port Vale will have only served to increase that.
Huddersfield fans are desperate for the exciting attacking midfielder to be the first permanent signing in January, and, seemingly, Kevin Nagle will be looking to fight to retain his services, first past next month, but then also for the long-term future.
If the Terriers can keep their star man past January, it would go down as a successful window. Then, if they could add even more quality to help them push for promotion, Huddersfield could be a dangerous outfit in the second half of the League One campaign.
