Serie A side Roma roped in Matias Soule from Juventus two years ago and invested a significant fee in the Argentine. Now, they are happy to consider his departure.

The Italian still values Soule as a player but his exit could now become inevitable due to financial reasons.

Secondly, it would also help Roma seal the deal for Mason Greenwood, who Gasperini is quite keen on signing.

Unfortunate but needed

It feels like this is something Roma can’t avoid right now. Soule has obvious quality which helped them in some key games but the harsh reality of Serie A means there is unsustainability to long-term ideas. This leads to clubs being forced to sell important players and they can’t give them time to turn things around either.

Besides, there is a chance Greenwood can turn out to be a very effective signing indeed.
