Kieran Trippier has left Newcastle on a free and has joined Wolverhampton on a two-year deal after their relegation to the Championship.
According to L'Équipe, Wolves are assembling a squad to target an immediate return to the Premier League, with Trippier central to that plan.
The 35-year-old right-back was hampered by a thigh injury from mid-November to early January. Even so, he made 37 appearances across the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and EFL Cup.
Used less often late in the campaign, the England international has 54 caps and one goal. His experience could cover for Matt Doherty, 34, whose deal expires at the end of June.
He said he was delighted to join Wolves, called it a new chapter and said he is ready to embrace it. He added that he looks forward to working with the team and giving his best on the pitch.
Trippier had been at Newcastle since January 2022 after two and a half seasons with Atlético Madrid.
