The former Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool manager has signed a long-term contract with Red Bull and will start work at the turn of the year.

As Head of Football, the 57-year-old will advise Red Bull's clubs in Leipzig, Salzburg, New York and Brazil on strategic and personnel matters, including player and coaching transfers.

Red Bull CEO of Corporate Projects and Investments Oliver Mintzlaff is said to have been the driving force behind Klopp's surprise appointment.

According to Sky Germany, Klopp has an exit option in his contract with Red Bull that would allow him to become Germany boss as a possible replacement for Julian Nagelsmann in the future.

Klopp has been without a job since leaving Liverpool at the end of last season at his own request.
