Real Madrid resume their season tomorrow with a La Liga clash against RCD Mallorca, before facing Bayern Munich in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal next Tuesday.

It will be a huge challenge for Alvaro Arbeloa & co., and they will need to make the most of the first leg, considering that the reverse fixture will be played away at the Allianz Arena.

And, leading up to the big game, there are some doubts about the availability of Bayern Munich superstar Harry Kane after he missed England’s matches during the international break due to a minor injury.

Vincent Kompany issues update

Speaking to the media earlier today, Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany confirmed that Harry Kane will miss Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga match against SC Freiburg this Saturday.

“Harry trained well until Sunday, but then felt discomfort in his ankle while with the national team. That will affect tomorrow’s match; he won’t be available,” Kompany confirmed, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.

Despite his absence from the domestic fixture, Bayern remain optimistic that he will be available for the Champions League quarterfinal against Real Madrid next Tuesday.

“I’m optimistic for Tuesday. It’s not an ideal situation; I’d like him to play against Freiburg, but as things stand today, that won’t be possible,” Kompany added.

Kompany also acknowledged that Kane’s absence requires tactical adjustments, although he remains confident in the depth and versatility of his squad.

“We have enough attackers around the box. It will depend on who proves they are 100% fit for this match. We can play with two strikers, no problem. We can have two No. 10s playing. We can play someone with a No. 10 or No. 9 profile.”
