After FC Bayern’s wild 3:3 draw against Heidenheim, coach Vincent Kompany immediately turns his focus back to the Champions League second leg against Paris Saint-Germain – and despite the recent fluctuations, he is very confident.
Immediately after the draw against 1. FC Heidenheim, the Bayern coach made it clear that he was already looking ahead. „Now we can focus on Wednesday,“ was the clear message Kompany sent out. After an intense week with the spectacular 4:5 in the first leg in Paris and the energy-sapping Bundesliga match, it was now crucial to focus fully on the clash in the Allianz Arena.
Although the 3-3 draw against Heidenheim again revealed defensive weaknesses, the team also showed morale. It was only in stoppage time that Munich salvaged a point and prevented a defeat against the team at the bottom of the table. It was precisely this mentality that Kompany emphasized afterwards.
„Everything went well for Heidenheim in the first half, but not for us. I understand that not everything can always be perfect, but the way we kept coming back is not to be taken for granted,“ explained the Bayern coach.

Even more important for Kompany is that no player was injured: „Now this game is over, everyone is fit. That’s what we wanted.“ Alphonso Davies, who was substituted against Real with an injury, came into the game in the closing stages. Tom Bischof, who was recently injured, was back in the squad for the first time but did not feature. Lennart Karl could also be fit for the second leg against Paris.
One thing is clear: FC Bayern and coach Vincent Kompany do not want to dwell on the 3-3 draw against Heidenheim, but instead prepare immediately for the Champions League clash against PSG.
