The agent of Genoa defender Koni De Winter, Fabrizio Lioi, discussed his client’s busy summer and the attention he drew from teams like Roma.
Following De Winter’s recent equalizer against the Giallorossi at the Ferraris stadium on Sunday, Lioi spoke to Tuttomercatoweb about the player’s past links with Roma.
“We spoke with many teams this summer. But Koni always said that he would leave Genoa only to make the leap in quality from all points of view. There were teams that called us, others called Genoa, but in the end it was deemed right to stay there.”
“His great goal is to have a great year with Genoa, also playing continuously with the Belgian national team. Then we will see the rest with great tranquility.”
“The truth is that we chatted a lot, with everyone. But in Italy you always struggle more than elsewhere to understand when the interest is more or less concrete. When you talk to English or German teams you understand it within a few weeks, with the clubs in Serie A it’s more difficult.”
