Kylian Mbappé sparks fresh Real Madrid drama with Arbeloa comments: ‘I’m 4th choice’ | OneFootball

Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé has late this week sparked fresh controversy in the Spanish capital.

This comes owing to a round of comments laid out by the Frenchman in the aftermath of Los Blancos’ latest outing.

Real were of course back in action on Thursday evening, welcoming Real Oviedo to the Bernabéu for a La Liga clash.

When all was said and done, the hosts emerged on the right side of a 2-0 result, courtesy of goals from Gonzalo García and Jude Bellingham.

The aforementioned Mbappé, fresh off a spell on the sidelines through injury, was for his part introduced to proceedings off the bench during the 2nd-half.

And the 27-year-old went on to make his mark, laying on the assist for Real Madrid’s 2nd.

As alluded to above, though, it was Mbappé’s activity post-match which has since grabbed the headlines across Spain and beyond.

This comes after the former PSG standout opened up on the surprising details of a conversation with manager Álvaro Arbeloa, explaining:

“I was ready to start but Arbeloa told me I am the 4th striker now. It’s okay, we have to accept the decisions of the coach. I will be working even harder.”
