Kylian Mbappé vows to pay tribute to the victims of November 13 attacks | OneFootball

France national team captain Kylian Mbappé (26) has called on his teammates to put a smile on French people’s faces as Les Bleus could qualify for the 2026 World Cup should they win against Ukraine this Thursday, ten years after the horrific 2015 terrorist attacks. Before today’s pre-game press conference, Mbappé took a moment to spare a thought, on behalf of the France national team as a whole, for everyone who have lost loved ones and who have been hurt, physically and psychologically, on November 13, 2025.

“We’ll go and try to pay tribute to everyone of them before the game and during the game“, Mbappé said. “We want to make the French understand that, despite a World Cup qualification being at stake, there are far more important things.” UEFA have agreed to the French FA’s request to mark the occasion with several commemorations, which would also address the war in Ukraine.

France national team manager Didier Deschamps previously said that he would have preferred the game to be scheduled at a different date.
