La Comunidad de Madrid finally inspected Rayo Vallecano’s Estadio de Vallecas on Tuesday after two failed attempts. According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, at least five technicians entered to assess the ground and define urgent works to ensure safe use.

The visit followed last week’s refusals by Rayo to admit regional staff, after a Monday meeting where president Raúl Martín Presa pledged cooperation to sports councillor Mariano de Paco.

Presa also undertook to provide documents proving compliance with conservation and maintenance duties, which the regional government says it has not yet received. De Paco framed the issue as administrative responsibility rather than a clash.

On 28 July the authority suspended the stadium’s concession as a precaution after serious safety failings were found, requiring urgent repairs. While access was refused, videos showed staff, led by vice president Alfonso Martín Presa, rushing to clean the facilities.

Tuesday’s supervision focused on audit findings, including fire protection, electrical systems, hygiene standards and general upkeep. De Paco said this first contact does not automatically start the works, it sets what remains and the interventions needed.

Supporters’ anger is rising, with groups mobilising against the prospect of playing in Burgos. El Plantío is an option if Vallecas cannot reopen, though it would mean roughly 500 kilometres per home game, while a groundshare at CD Leganés’ Butarque remains under discussion with regional funding support.
