La Copa de Veteranos de Castellón postpones third round amid orange weather alert | OneFootball

La Copa de Veteranos de Castellón has postponed the third round after an orange weather alert for tomorrow, with gusts forecast above 120 km/h across much of the province. The Asociación Provincial de Fútbol de Veteranos confirmed the decision. Organisers will now reprogramme the fixtures.

The opening two rounds were wind affected and the second matchday unfolded in blustery conditions without surprises as the table begins to take shape. With 11 matches in the competition, more than two slip-ups could jeopardise a semi-final place.

In group one there were four home wins, one away victory and one draw. At El Saltador, L’Alcora-Asitec edged Onda 1-0. At Javier Marquina, Castellón-San Pedro and Armelles-CMG both finished 1-0.

At the Ciutat Esportiva Pamesa, Emat Displays-Villarreal beat Fomento-Montilyg 3-1. Huracán-Burriana defeated Rodeo Fore-Ut 4-2 after Rodeo Fore-Ut had led 2-1.

Benicasim and UDE drew 2-2 at José Mangriñán. UDE led 2-0 at half-time before Benicasim levelled in the second half.

Moncofa delivered the heaviest win, 5-1 against Casa Marina-Bañohogar after Casa Marina-Bañohogar had taken a 1-0 lead. In last week’s postponed game, Moncofa also won 6-1 at Enrique Saura.

In group two, Pizzería L’Etrusco broke a tight first half to win 4-0 with four after the interval. Oropesa beat San Lorenzo 3-1. Borriol-Magnanimvs edged Maradona 1-0 and Alcalà-Bar Gales won by the same score.

Moró versus Rayo de Castellón finished 2-0 and Les Palmes against Alqueries also ended 2-0, both tight despite the margins. That completed the second round as the cup gathers pace.
