Las Palmas star Sandro Ramírez has this week revealed his take that Real Madrid talent Raúl Asencio is deserving of a more regular chance to impress in Carlo Ancelotti’s backline.
The name of defender Asencio has of course emerged as a much talked about one amongst those of a Real Madrid persuasion over recent weeks.
This comes with the 21-year-old, after exploding onto the first-team picture courtesy of a string of standout performances, having since been afforded limited opportunities to impress.
Boss Carlo Ancelotti has instead continued to rely on midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni to man the heart of his defence.
With Los Blancos fresh off a 5-2 drubbing at the hands of arch rivals Barcelona last time out, though, calls for an uptick in playing time for Asencio have begun to mount.
And, as alluded to above, on Thursday, such calls have been backed by a fellow La Liga star.
After being questioned on the talents of the young stopper by Marca this morning, Las Palmas frontman Sandro Ramírez responded:
“Raúl Asencio is a great player. I think he is getting fewer opportunities than he deserves. When he comes on he shows the level he has.”
