As per a report from journalist Alfredo Martinez, Julián Álvarez, previously considered something of a favourite on Barca’s part, has seen his status as a target lose weight.

And in the Argentine’s place comes a new frontrunner, in the form of Levante breakout star Karl Etta Eyong.

Cameroonian international Etta Eyong has racked up six goals and three assists in La Liga this season.

The 22-year-old would be available for a fraction of the price of the likes of the aforementioned Álvarez, or Erling Haaland.
