LaLiga has lodged a complaint over the throwing of bottles, including capped bottles, after Levante’s derby with Valencia.
LaLiga said in its complaint that it files such reports weekly to the RFEF Competition Committee and the Anti-violence Commission. During the match, chants deemed insulting or intolerant were heard, including “Pepelu eres una rata” and “Puto sapo el que no bote”.
Eight minutes after full time, local fans near the away end, at the corner between Gol Alboraya and Grada Lateral, threw several water bottles towards that area, prompting National Police to intervene. Around 10 minutes after the final whistle, supporters near the tunnel in Tribuna threw capped bottles as visiting players headed to the dressing rooms, one of which struck a visiting player.
The complaint does not mention Cömert’s celebration, when he took a corner flag and waved a Valencia shirt by his fans. That act was the start of the mass throwing of objects from the stands that the report documents.
It is now for the RFEF Competition Committee and the Anti-violence Commission to decide whether Levante, the stadium owner and match host, faces financial or other sanctions.
