Lameck Banda posts Zambia workout on Instagram amid Lecce absence | OneFootball

Lameck Banda has appeared on Instagram working out in Zambia after failing to report for Lecce’s 12 July restart.

According to L'Équipe, the Zambian left winger posted two story videos of running and weights, which the Serie A club’s officials also saw and found somewhat reassuring. Until then, only a fleeting photo of Banda and his wife at Lusaka airport had emerged following their June wedding.

The 25-year-old, who has played 109 official matches for Lecce, was due back for pre-season and the subsequent camp in Austria with Eusebio Di Francesco’s squad. He did not answer calls from club directors.

Banda arrived in 2022 and had been under contract until June, with Lecce exercising an option for the 2026-2027 season.

He probably wants a move, but so far only Al-Fateh have come forward with a €2.5 million offer considered well short. Lecce are weighing disciplinary action, including a wage deduction.
