Lamine Yamal and Pedro Porro rested in Spain training three days before World Cup final

Lamine Yamal and Pedro Porro were rested during Spain’s training in East Hanover, New Jersey, on Thursday, three days before the World Cup final against Argentina.

According to L'Équipe, the pair limited their work while team-mates trained at the New York Red Bull facility.

Yamal, runner-up in the most recent Ballon d’Or voting, took a knock in the semi-final against France on Tuesday in Dallas, a 2-0 win, but played to the end. He was seen with a bandage on his left thigh.

Porro, the full-back, left his team-mates in the closing minutes of that match because of a minor hamstring issue.

Both players came onto the pitch and sat on a gym mat as the rest of the squad ran their usual rondos.
