As expected, Luis de la Fuente has named Lamine Yamal to start for Spain against Saudi Arabia on Sunday at 18:00 in Atlanta, in their second World Cup group match. According to L'Équipe, Fabian Ruiz begins on the bench.
It is his first World Cup start. The Barcelona player replaces his club-mate Ferran Torres on the right.
He suffered a left thigh injury on 22 April, then returned for the final 20 minutes of Spain's 0-0 draw with Cape Verde on Monday.
De la Fuente has made four changes from the draw with the Blue Sharks. Pedro Porro starts at right-back instead of Marcos Llorente, Alex Baena comes in on the left, and Dani Olmo operates as the number 10.
Pedri drops deeper to partner Rodri in midfield.
Spain line-up to face Saudi Arabia: Simon - Porro, Cubarsi, Laporte, Cucurella - Rodri, Pedri - Yamal, Olmo, Baena - Oyarzabal.
