Lazio have found themselves a replacement for the departing Christos Mandas in the shape of Reggiana goalkeeper Edoardo Motta.
The Biancocelesti have already agreed to send the Greek goalkeeper to Bournemouth. It will reportedly be an initial loan move with an option to buy that could become an obligation if the Cherries qualify for Europe and the 24-year-old registers a certain number of appearances. It has also been reported that the Aquile are only waiting to secure a replacement before sanctioning the move.
According to multiple sources in the Italian media, including Alfredo Pedullà, Lazio are close to signing Motta, who would fill in for Mandas by serving as an understudy for Ivan Provedel, who has been Maurizio Sarri’s ultimate first choice since the start of the season. The Italian journalist reveals that the negotiations have been advancing rapidly, and we’ve now reached an advanced stage.

Motta is a 21-year-old custodian who started his career at the Juventus academy. The Biella native had loan spells at Alessandria and Monza, before joining Reggiana in the summer of 2024. After spending his first year on loan, the custodian completed a permanent transfer to the Serie B club last summer, where he established himself as an automatic starter.
This season, Motta made 21 appearances across all competitions for the Emilian club, conceding 31 goals in total, and registering five clean sheets. Fabrizio Romano, who also confirmed that the young shot-stopper is expected to join Lazio, revealed that Juventus would receive a 50% sell-on fee.
