Lazio sporting director Angelo Fabiani has confirmed that an Inter Milan midfielder was keen on a January switch to the Biancocelesti, comments that strongly point toward Davide Frattesi.

“We had identified a player from Inter who also wanted to come here, without naming names, but in the end it wasn’t possible,” Fabiani said, via FCInterNews.
“Lazio could easily have supported a loan with an obligation to buy, but every club has its own strategies. The important thing is not to do favours for anyone.”
His remarks align with previous reports that Frattesi was a serious Lazio target.
Indeed, even if Inter ultimately refused to open negotiations for a mid-season exit.
Frattesi was also linked with Nottingham Forest but eventually stayed in Milan.
Inter were unable to complete a deal for Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones.
