Adam Marusic Optimistic About Lazio Campaign

The 32-year-old joined his coach in the pre-match press conference ahead of Thursday’s Champions League contest against Ludogorets (via LazioNews24). The Montenegro international is highly optimistic, especially following the thrilling start to the campaign.

I have been here for many years, I have played many games in Europe. We are doing well with mister Baroni, also in Serie A. I think we can have a great campaign. Tomorrow is a very important game, not to be underestimated because in Europe there are weak sides. We must give everything to win tomorrow.

Marco Baroni Wants Attacking Full-Backs

Marusic noted how Baroni urges his full-backs to push forward rather than sitting deep, as with his predecessors.

The coach wants us full-backs to move forward, but in previous campaigns, we didn’t have this freedom. [Nuno] Tavares is doing well, Luca [Pellegrini] and [Manuel] Lazzari are also strong players. When there are many games and we play every three or four days, we all have to be available and lend a hand when we don’t play. We can all show our values on the pitch. We are doing well and I would be happy to produce a few more assists.

The Controversial Amsterdam Embargo

The experienced player was also asked to comment on the decision made by the Amsterdam authorities to prevent Lazio fans from traveling for the away clash against Ajax which will be held on December 12th for security reasons.
