Matteo Cancellieri has been ruled out for over a month after suffering a hamstring injury during the goalless draw against Atalanta. The versatile forward was in excellent form before his injury setback. Left-back Nuno Tavares has also suffered a muscle tear.

Samuel Gigot continues his rehabilitation program in France and remains unavailable. Midfielders Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Nicolò Rovella are carrying out specific differentiated work but their availability remains uncertain.

On a positive note, Luca Pellegrini has returned to group training after three weeks out with a knee injury sustained against Genoa and could feature against his former club, though he is unlikely to start. Mattia Zaccagni returned from injury in the previous match and will captain the side once again.

Juventus Team News

The Old Lady travel to Rome without key defensive duo Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal. Bremer underwent arthroscopic selective meniscectomy surgery following a setback and is expected to miss several more weeks. The Brazilian’s absence has been particularly damaging to Juventus, who have failed to win since he became unavailable.

Juan Cabal continues to recover from a thigh injury that has kept him out of recent fixtures. Polish striker Arkadiusz Milik remains a long-term absentee, while veteran goalkeeper Carlo Pinsoglio is also unavailable through injury.

Manager Igor Tudor faces mounting pressure following the team’s woeful form, with Juventus directors reportedly surprised by his recent outburst in a press conference ahead of the Real Madrid clash, where he blamed fixture congestion and refereeing decisions for the team’s struggles.

Manuel Locatelli will be available despite being controversially benched against Real Madrid in midweek, with the captain expressing his frustration on social media.

Form

Lazio

The Biancocelesti have endured an inconsistent start to the campaign, winning just two of their opening seven fixtures to sit 12th in the Serie A standings with only eight points. After suffering defeats to Como, Sassuolo and Roma in their opening four matches, Lazio have at least found some stability with three consecutive games without defeat.

Sarri’s men secured an impressive 3-0 victory away at Genoa, before earning a dramatic 3-3 home draw against Torino in which they scored in stoppage time, a 96th-minute penalty from Danilo Cataldi. Most recently, they battled to a hard-fought goalless draw away at Atalanta, with Mario Gila and Ivan Provedel producing heroic performances to keep La Dea at bay.

Juventus

The Bianconeri are enduring their worst run of form in nearly two decades, having gone seven matches without a victory across all competitions. Igor Tudor’s side started the season promisingly with three consecutive wins, but has since suffered a dramatic collapse.

Juventus have drawn five times and lost twice in their last seven outings, including a disappointing 2-0 defeat away at Como last weekend which intensified the scrutiny on Tudor. In midweek, they put up a valiant effort but ultimately fell 1-0 to Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu in the Champions League, failing to score for the third consecutive match.

Predicted Lineups

Lazio: Provedel; Lazzari, Gila, Romagnoli, Marusic; Guendouzi, Cataldi, Basic; Isaksen, Dia, Zaccagni.

Juventus: Di Gregorio; Gatti, Rugani, Kelly; Kalulu, Locatelli, Thuram, Cambiaso; Conceicao, Yildiz; David.
