Regis Le Bris says midfielder Noah Sadiki was forced off against Arsenal with a thigh problem.
But the Sunderland boss says he is hopeful that it is not a serious issue, after watching his side fall to a 3-0 defeat at the Premier League leaders.
“Yeah I think so,” Le Bris replied when asked if Sadiki is feeling okay. “He had a little bit of discomfort in his thigh.”
Skipper Granit Xhaka again missed out with an ankle problem, and Le Bris says he is not expected to be back for at least another two weeks.
“We don’t know yet, two or three weeks,” he said. “We’ll see according to his feeling and we just have to wait a bit.”
Reflecting on the defeat, Le Bris said: “I think we showed character and personality with and without the ball.
“It was the game we expected. We know Arsenal are really well rounded with the ability to be impactful in set pieces after their counter press.
“We lost two balls and conceded two goals.”
