Retired officer Lee Stowe, 53, has gone viral after Milo and Jasper, two dogs from his Leeds outfit Leads United Dog Walking, howled along to Leeds United’s Marching on Together in a Facebook video filmed in his van.
“Milo and Jasper have people in cars laughing their heads off as they pass,” he joked. He told The Yorkshire Post: “This was honestly a one take wonder, they howl and sing along, it is great.”
Stowe founded Leads United Dog Walking in 2023 after more than 30 years with West Yorkshire Police, including 19 as a sergeant. A Leeds United season ticket holder, he now spends his days on group walks around Temple Newsam. His van is emblazoned with the Leeds United logo and badges.
He leans into the theme, sending daily match reports to owners, awarding a weekly player of the week trophy and staging mock press conferences for new signings. “The owners love the football theme,” he said. “Some of them want nothing more than their dog to win the trophy, it is a bit of fun.”
He said the idea clicked while on holiday when a friend urged him to turn his love of dogs into work. “I had had enough of the stress of people day to day and was ready to do something else. It was a lightbulb moment.”
The name followed in a cricket club chat, using Leads instead of Leeds for a playful twist. “It was perfect.” “I know this is the job for me now. It was a total career change but I couldn’t love it any more than I do.”
