Leeds United’s stuttering window has brought a double setback, with a £18.75m move for Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki reportedly rejected and Wolves defender Ladislav Krejci now likely to join Real Betis.

Italian reports claim Parma have turned down Leeds’ £18.75m offer for the Japan international. With Karl Darlow yet to sign a new deal, Illan Meslier gone and Torino pursuing Lucas Perri, the need in goal is clear.

Krejci, the Wolves defender and Czech Republic captain, had been linked with Elland Road, but he looks set to join Junior Firpo and Marc Roca at Betis, despite a gap in valuation.

Elsewhere, Leeds have seen two bids for Southampton midfielder Shea Charles rejected. Interest in Julian Brandt has cooled, and Harry Wilson’s move remains unannounced.

Outgoings continue, with Pascal Struijk joining Brighton and Harry Gray heading to Sheffield Wednesday on loan to team up with Liam Cooper.

Leeds still need at least one centre-back, left-back cover, one or possibly two goalkeepers, an upgrade on Brenden Aaronson and another attacker. With pre-season only days away, sporting director Adam Underwood is under growing pressure.
