Leeds look elsewhere as Southampton get Shea Charles boost | OneFootball

Leeds have shifted focus in midfield, easing immediate pressure on Southampton to sell Shea Charles as the club hold firm.

Leeds United have made two bids for the 22-year-old this window, both rejected. Gazzetta suggests that Leeds are now in negotiations for Parma midfielder Mandela Keita.

Parma are demanding €30 million for the 24-year-old. Keita has top-flight experience. Southampton have also confirmed the signings of last season’s loanees Daniel Peretz and Cyle Larin.

Club chairman Dragan Solak has said the Saints will only act in the market if players depart. There is no sign that Charles is pushing to leave.

"At the moment I am focused on Southampton and the next campaign," he told the Belfast Telegraph in June while on Northern Ireland duty.

"Obviously we’ll see what happens when we go back into camp or pre-season. I’m really looking forward to going back to Southampton." Players return this week for testing.
